Products and Manufacturing

Where do Ortus teas and coffees come from? Our raw materials arrive from producing countries around the world – either through direct purchases from farmers or through European joint procurements. Although the raw materials come from far away, the products are processed in Turku. We blend flavored teas according to our own recipes and roast a large portion of the coffees ourselves in our own roastery. All coffee blends and flavored coffees are our own creations.

Are there organic products in the selection, and how is responsibility taken into account? Yes. Social responsibility is an important criterion for us when selecting suppliers. Our selection includes certified organic products from all tea categories, as well as several organic coffees. Our parent company (Oy Hottis Ltd) is an authority-approved and supervised manufacturer and seller of organic products.

Delivery and Store

Does Ortus have a brick-and-mortar store where one can shop? We currently serve consumer customers only through our online store. The heart of our operations is our production and warehouse facility in Turku, where we handle product manufacturing, storage, and wholesale deliveries, but we do not have a retail store open to the public.

Do you deliver orders outside of Finland? Currently, the Ortus.fi online store delivers orders only to mainland Finland. We focus on serving our domestic customers as quickly and reliably as possible.

Can I order products as a gift for another person? Yes, you can! This is a popular way to delight a friend. Fill in the recipient's details in the "Shipping address" field at checkout and your own details in the "Billing address" field. The package will be delivered directly to the gift recipient.

Security and Reliability

Is ordering from the online store safe? Absolutely. Although Ortus is a fresh name, we have solid experience behind us: we have been working with tea and coffee for over 20 years (previously as a wholesaler and under the name Teekeidas). Our online store uses an encrypted SSL connection, and all our payment methods (online banking, cards, mobile payments) are secure and maintained by Finnish payment service providers.
