A well-known, strong, and dark, almost charcoal-colored tea from the Fujian province of China, from the autumn harvest. The large-leaf tea is lightly rolled and, after fermentation, smoked over resinous wood, usually spruce. Lapsang Souchong is an aromatic and strong tea with a refined smoky flavor and a pleasant, long, and robust aftertaste.
Lapsang Souchong is often served in China with strong and savory dishes. The balance between the tea and smoke is pleasant. Lapsang Souchong can be compared to a robust Bordeaux wine. The tea leaves can be steeped multiple times.
Steeping time 3-5 minutes, water temperature 100°C, dosage 1 teaspoon per cup or 4-5 / liter.
