Colombia Excelso Decaf Decaffeinated

Colombia Excelso Decaf is a full-bodied medium roast coffee with a balanced, rich, and sweet flavor. The coffee has a low acidity. The roast level of the coffee is medium. Colombia Excelso Decaf La Flaca decaffeinated coffee is darker in color than regular caffeinated coffee.

This coffee is from the 2024/25 harvest season and is hand-picked.

Growing region: Colombia, Antioquia, and the coffee producer is Cafelumbus. Grown at an altitude of approximately 1200m - 1800m in the mountains. The coffee variety is Castillo.

Caffeine is removed from the green, unroasted raw bean. Raw coffee beans are steamed, causing them to expand and release caffeine. The mediating agent used in the removal is dichloromethane (DCM).
After the process, approximately 0.1% caffeine remains.
